Onboarding

What you need to finish your operator account

The six required items on your readiness checklist, how long each really takes, what the server checks when you submit, and what unlocks afterwards.

Finishing your account is a checklist, not a wizard. There are six required items plus payout setup, you can do them in any order, and everything saves as you go. Your checklist lives at /contractor/onboarding — that’s the page you come back to.

The six required items

Item How long What it is
DISC personality profile ~10 min A short read on how you naturally work. Clients see it on your profile, and there are no wrong answers.
MBTI personality profile ~8 min 28 statement pairs about how you prefer to work and decide. Pick whichever sounds more like you.
Hiring for Attitude ~10 min Asks how you approach work rather than what you know.
Internet speed check ~1 min Run it from the connection you’ll actually work on.
Intro video ~20–45 min A 60–90 second introduction. Most clients watch this first — see how to record it.
Documents & tax ~20–40 min Four documents. See below.

Then there’s payout setup (~5 min). It’s how approved hours reach your bank, but it is not a completion blocker — you can finish your account first and set it up after.

The four documents

Your Documents & tax row is complete when all four of these exist:

Government ID.
Proof of address.
Contractor agreement — signed in the browser, no download needed.
A tax form — a W-9 if you’re a US person, a W-8BEN if you’re not. Either one satisfies the slot.

Outside the US, you don’t upload anything for tax. Go to /contractor/tax and certify a W-8BEN in the guided form — it takes about three minutes and produces the signed document for you. Only the last four digits of your foreign tax number are stored. Full detail in what tax responsibilities do I have.

A document counts as soon as it’s uploaded. Admin review happens afterwards and does not hold up your submission.

Submitting

When all six required rows are done, “Finish your account →” appears at the bottom of the checklist. Until then it stays hidden and the checklist says what’s still outstanding.

The server checks this independently of the page, so there’s no way to submit early by accident. If something is genuinely missing it refuses and names exactly which items — for example “Finish the required items to complete your account: intro video, documents (proof of address).”

What unlocks, and when

When You get
Register + verify your email An operator account and your readiness checklist
Any completed assessment That result on your profile, visible to clients
Intro video uploaded Visibility to clients who filter on video
All six + submit Anastasis review, and then applying to roles

Until you submit, the portal deliberately keeps you inside the funnel — the checklist, the assessments, your documents, your profile, settings, and this help centre are reachable; the wider dashboard isn’t. Submitting opens it.

After review you’ll hear by email. See how to apply for a role and why is my apply button greyed out.
