Contractors are responsible for their own tax reporting. Anastasis collects tax documentation so the platform can keep payout records clean, but it does not replace your accountant or local tax obligations.
What to prepare
- US contractors: prepare a W-9 with your SSN or EIN.
- Non-US individuals: prepare a W-8BEN.
- Non-US entities: prepare a W-8BEN-E.
- Mexico-based contractors: expect a W-8 step before payout eligibility. You may also need local tax records depending on your own situation.
Your readiness checklist has a Documents & tax row covering government ID, proof of address, the signed contractor agreement, and your W-9 or W-8BEN. Outside the US you certify the W-8BEN in a guided form at /contractor/tax rather than uploading anything. Payout setup is separate, and the payout provider may ask for additional identity or tax details on its side before you can withdraw.
What taxes are not
The tax form is not the same as your payout account. Bank details, CLABE, and card information live with the payout provider. Your tax form documents who you are for reporting and compliance.
When this affects payouts
W-8/W-9 readiness can block payout eligibility. If your dashboard says documents are missing, or the payout provider asks for more information on its side, finish that step before expecting a Friday transfer.
For country-specific filing, withholding, CFDI, or income-reporting questions, talk to a qualified tax professional. Anastasis support can help with portal status, but not personal tax advice.
